My family now had not heard from me in more than an hour and was out looking for me. My wife was on the phone with anyone who could give her direction as to what to do. Some speculated that I had done what many had to do that night—seek shelter at one of the many businesses, churches, and schools that had opened their doors to hundreds as “warming stations.” Obvious only to me, this was not the case, unfortunately……
There were dozens of people on foot and on all-terrain vehicles assisting all the motorists they could. The temperatures were now dipping close to single digits, and many individuals were already freezing cold.
I saw many volunteers pushing cars and some ATV operators out on this dreary day. These ATV drivers either helped pull small cars out of ditches or piggybacked someone so they could get kids home from school or family members home from work. All the people helping…..

If you haven’t ever experienced how precious life truly is in your daily walk I ask you to stop and pay closer attention to your family, your co-workers, your relatives, neighbors, etc. You get the idea. Know that deep down inside that person might just have some turmoil in their souls.
Life is like a roll of toilet paper…the closer it gets to the end the faster it goes. I’ll let your imagination run with that one for a minute.
