Many of you that have either followed my story or have read my book know from me that unequivocally God does answer prayers. I know because I have had many of you call out to Him in my stead.
When I had my accident there were thousands of prayers crying out for me and my well being and to watch over my family during a traumatic thing that took place. I heard from well wishers from all 50 states and 5 countries and for all the many prayers I am forever grateful.
When I have someone to stop and tell me that they or their family lifted prayers up to Him I believe them and know without a shadow of doubt that I felt every single one of those. I was reminded once that we are to take that promise of praying for someone seriously. We have taken a vow on behalf of someone or something to lift their name or situation up to our Heavenly Father.
Jeremiah 29:11 tells us For I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Sometimes we have to be reminded of this, even in bad times, God is there for us every step of the way. God has mapped out the path before you. He is aware of every obstacle & miry pit.
We have to remind ourselves to keep praying. It is not always easy when we don’t see something immediate. We also have many things we pray for; a person’s salvation, the health of a person and in some cases we pray for intervention in the temptation of sin that is right in front of us. Do you think that God is annoyed with us and ready for us to quit praying the same prayer over and over?
God told us to keep asking and it will be given to you. Keep knocking and the door will be answered and opened to you..
We start praying that we have a job or physical relief or have a deeper relationship with God. We have to open up and be ready to answer that call. It might not come as quickly as we would want it to, but His master plan is in full motion and He will find what it is you need.
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. (Romans 12:9–13)
This next paragraph is from my book about the Power of Prayer and my first experience of this feeling:
Many have asked if I had an angel or near-death experience while in the ravine. My answer is always a simple “No.” I did have angels speak with me as plain as one would carry on a conversation, though. It happened when my father passed away of congestive heart failure more than thirty five years ago. My source of comfort came through what I came to know as the power of prayer. While at my pastor’s home, my sister Shelly and I were lying in our beds ready to go to sleep. I began a prayer, and as I dropped off to sleep, angels came over me to prep me for the bad news that my pastor’s family was about to relay to us. The angels were comforting me and letting me know that they had taken my father to heaven to be with Jesus. They let me know that he was in a much better place and he was a “whole” man again.
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Keep praying friends! Pray the same thing you did yesterday. Pray it because God told us to-until you need to pray for something different or because you yourself has been changed through the process.
