Today is a day that I will forever remember-one etched in my brain. It is my 9-11, my December 7, 1941. On this day, 3 years ago I went out hoping to help people in a surprise snow/ice storm that turned rather treacherous and spooky all at the same time.
Today is my “lost” day and then on to my recovery the very next day, January 29, 2017 is my “found” day. As one friend made note of this day as being my new “birthing” day.
How were we to know that an unforgettable nightmare was beginning…one that would culminate in many miracles and change lives forever?
We never speculated that this accident that almost ended my life would instead become a gift that touched lives for months and years to come……only by God’s incredible grace!
Read my blog or book as I take you on a journey into a frozen night, led by my desire to help, a life threatening fall and the miracles that follow.
Psalms 86:7 reminds us that He will hear and answer our prayers. I had many praying all over the country and the world for little ole me. I had prayed for individuals before but never had to be on the receiving end. Boy, did I ever find out how that works. The intercessory prayer chain reached deep into my soul and helped pluck me out of the ravine that I found myself calling home this cold, frigid, miserable night.
Though Jesus said we would face troubles in this life, He offered encouragement, the ultimate victory is His. So keep in mind that trials are fleeting, whereas our Father’s love is forever. I have a limited perspective and understanding of my circumstances and God’s purposes for allowing them. His goals for me are greater than my immediate comfort.
I keep reminding myself how fragile life is. There is not a time when I leave my house or leave my family that I make sure that it is on a positive note. That person you are visiting, speaking with, texting, emailing might just be the last time you will see or speak with them. Life is too precious and it can and will be taken in a moments notice.
Believers are special in the eyes of their God and King. We are a sacred people and a holy order. What are you doing with your life? As a believer, you are not your own anymore (1 Corinthians 6:19). You are a priest and a privileged servant of the Most High God. Are you serving Him as you should?
